Animal Rights Activists Rescued Hens from Hen Farm

In the early hours of June 2nd, Rönnaug Lunke and Pelle Strindlund of animal rights group "On the Precipice" (The Rescue Service Action 10), entered the Victorsson Brothers’ hen farm in Frillesås near Gothenburg and liberated 38 hens. According to the activists, the hens were in poor shape judging from their plumage.
The hens have been brought to new homes, in which they are given care, love and optimal living conditions. They are able to move freely both indoors and out, search for food, and frolic in sand. None of this is a possibility for any of the over three million hens caged in Sweden at the time of this writing.
The so called modified cages now introduced are practically as awful as the old ones. The floor surface for each hen is still no larger than an A4 sized sheet of paper, preventing them from fully stretching their wings.
